The School of Philosophy is a registered educational charity. It has been in continuous operation since 1937.
The School was founded in London as an enquiry into economic justice. Over the decades that followed, its curriculum widened to include the philosophy of Plato and the Stoics, and from the early 1960s, the practice of Advaita Vedanta under Shri Shantananda Sarasvati.
It is not a university. It awards no degrees. It does not offer therapy, personal development, or executive coaching. What it offers is the opportunity to study, seriously and over time, questions that have occupied human beings across every tradition: questions of justice, of knowledge, of how to live.
