London · W1U · Grade II Listed
Mandeville Place.
The School's headquarters in central London since 2002.
The house
andeville Place is a terrace of early nineteenth-century townhouses in Marylebone, on a street running north from Oxford Street. The School has occupied the building since 2002. The facade is Grade II listed: six bays of yellow London brick with a stuccoed ground floor, and classical columns framing the entrance. The building is at number 11; look for the number beside the door.
Inside, the building runs deeper than its street frontage suggests. Seminar rooms are arranged across three floors, each adapted from the original domestic plan. The library occupies the ground floor and holds a working collection of philosophy, economics, and Sanskrit texts. The building is not prominently signed; it continues to function as a working school, not a public institution.
The School has met here since 2002. The courses, the tutorials, and the public lectures that have taken place within these rooms have continued without interruption, except during the Covid lockdown.
