About this course

In the dialogue named after Phaedrus, Plato recounts Socrates' conversation with Phaedrus about love. The dialogue moves from a polished speech on the non-lover to Socrates' own speeches, and then to a great palinode on the nature of the soul.

Over ten weeks this course offers a close reading of the Phaedrus, guided by the School's own translation. New students are welcome; no previous knowledge of Plato is required.
