Advanced Economics – from John de Val (tutor)
This term we will continue to look at the Chinese economy using a book entitled China’s Great Wall of Debt. What has been happening in China has had a profound effect on the global economy and this is likely to be the case for the future as well. But the Chinese economy is now showing increasing signs of running into serious long-term problems.
This book is a very readable account of some of those problems (not just debt) and how they have arisen and can act as an introduction encouraging further study for those students who wish to follow up on some of the issues identified. (The first session will include a re-cap of the material covered last term so that new students can get up to speed).
We will use the first half of our sessions next term on this subject. In the second half we will consider what we have covered in the first half in the light of principles which have been identified as supporting the aim of economics in enabling people to live together naturally, finding freedom and prosperity
Our Advanced Economics with Justice group meets on Tuesday evenings.
Enrol online or on the phone by 07 December or via Direct Debit before 15 December to benefit from the discounted rate of £100 (£120 standard).
